Default madman alt bracket--squealing

I have this bracket and have had it for quit sometime on the car. I ran the orginal belt that came with it for a while untill it started squealing. I bought a replacment belt with the same pn. This belt seems way to loose and now the car is really squealing. does anyone else use this bracket? if so how much tension do you have on your belt? Is there a smaller belt out there that i can get that will be tighter? does anyone have that pn? This thing sounds aweful and i have changed everything thing within in the last week...new alt, and belt so i figure it has to be the belt is way to loose. Any help?

they sent me the wrong belt with my kit, measure with a string or go to advanced and get the next 2 smaller belts and return what you dont need

Your local parts store will help you get a little shorter belt. I actually had to go to a 5 rib belt to get one short enough.

ya, you need a shorter belt unless you can tighten the one on there more. belts squeal when they are loose.

K050355 gates parts number on mine. Like I said its a 5 rib, our pulleys are 6. Doesnt make a difference, just consider it a weight savings lol. I couldnt find a 6 rib short enough.

wrap the string around the pulleys like you would route a belt and see how long it is

This belt has to be a true 34.5" belt - if you switched brands then the belt might be a different length even though the part number says 34.5". We have these belts in stock if you want to give us a call.

I thought you had a problem with the belt slipping?

If so can you go 8 rib?
