I have heard some horror stories about throttle blades being sticky, poor idle quality, and tunability on the less expensive models. It seems they can work well but they need a little more love than some of the more expensive units. I did quite a bit of research and decided to go with a BBK 58mm throttle body and to be perfectly honest I could not be happier. It was essentially a bolt on and go. I did not have to adjust the tps or the stop screw, right out of the box the voltage was dead nuts, IAC counts were 40, and it sat there and idled on initial start up just like a stocker. No drill mods, throttle sticking, no BS

I just was holding a trickflow 58MM in my hands about two weeks ago. Honestly its nice for the money and the blades opened and closed smooth but I could not get over the casting in the front of the blades. I ended up taking a grinder to the front of it and blended all of the casting flaws back so it has a more uniform shape and smoother entry. I know this probably does not make even a 1/2HP difference but I could not let it leave my house without reshaping the front where a airfoil would typically go.
Other than that small little personal issue I have had with it Im very happy and my buddy that runs it is very happy also.
