You never know....they may revisit this once the economy improves....if it improves.

Yes. 1150ish Rwhp F2 30+PSI twisted it in half.

I’d buy one or two if they were available.

From the SH LTx thread over at Dart:

"(Dart representative): Well, I have received some very, very unfortunate news today. This project has been officially canceled.

It seems that after speaking to many of our engine builders, warehouses, racer clients and others that our initial assessment was somewhat over-inflated, our secondary assessment has not been nearly as positive as the first, sadly."

And that was in 2009. Has the LTx market grown since then?

I'm sure that is what they would hear from their engine building vendors. How many high dollar LT1s are those engine builders actually building? Damn near none. They would need to sell hundreds to make enough money on them to make business sense. That ain't gonna happen. This market just keeps shrinking. On the other hand, more shops are building them for Comp Eliminator instead of normal SBCs. The shop that does my machine work builds a lot of the top Comp Eliminator and SS engines in the U.S. about every time I go there I see another LS engine being built or waiting to be picked up. Only LT engines I see are for SS, and they use a regular Bowtie like mine.

Nobody is going to make any money producing LT blocks.

You look at the demographics of those who own these cars and there is just no market for any sort of aftermarket block. That's just the way it is. We are pretty much in the broke dick category of racing and aftermarket demand.

For you guys still pining for a bigger/better LTx block, I wonder if Donovan would still make this if you tossed enough money their way?

I'm pretty sure it's just a SBC that they weld the hell out of the front of the case then hand grind it down to accommodate the LT1 specific stuff.

(Ed, you knew I was gonna dredge up this pic!)

I remember that one. That's a lot of work to hang crap on the front of an engine.
Guys that just think they have to do that are certainly free to do their own.

Is that all it takes is relocating the WP holes? There must be something more to it than that. I see the gear drive but more than likely no one is going to use it anyway.

His name is in the picture (Jeff Green). He's pushing about 1500 hp through it.
