Two guys told me theirs held up, anyone else have one? If I get enough replies i might just go with theirs and save some money.

 

Others may dissagree but I've had nothing but horrors out of cheap optis, I have one with a lifetime warranty sitting in my shop that I've replaced around 4 times, its not worth putting another one in they only last around 6 months and their done. Another cheap one on my car now with around 400 miles on that may be causing my car to run funny now. If you want to get really good at changing optis go with one. I can't speak for chandler but guess you know how I feel about them.

 

That's why I switched to the EFI Connection 24x swap that uses LSx pcm, coils etc and completely gets rid of the opti. It's expensive up front but by the time you buy 3 or more new optis you will have paid the same amount of money, plus with the LSx setup you get a faster pcm with more tuning options, a higher redline and better, stronger spark and non of the opti failures.

3 or 4 opti's?! My stock AC Delco lasted 140k. My new AC Delco has lasted another 52k miles. If you thread lock the rotor screws and don't drive through a river on your way to work, there should be no reason to be buying 3-4 opti's...

I've been thru 3 in the last year and a half.They've all came from Chandler and I just installed another not too long ago. The last one came with a lifetime warranty so when it goes out we'll see if that is honored. Never the less I'm a pro at changing a opti now.LOL! I'm going with LS.I'm tires of the LT1 anyways.......

 

3 GM units bad after 8-10k miles. Tried Chandler and no problem so far! All optis are crap. Go 24X

 

Honestly I can't fathom how people go through opti's like candy. I have always, and will always use only GM opti's on my cars or my customer's cars.
On my first car the stock opti went out at 140k miles, then I did my research and installed a new GM opti AFTER thread locking the rotor screws. Every single one that I have installed has never had a problem.

 

I'm rocking a CMS opti. No opti problems to report so far.

I will say, AC Delco is the way to go. I just wanted to try my hand at a CMS opti and see what happens.

 

So, How many of Chandler Motorsports opti's have you been through? I've known a few people that have 10k plus on them so far and no problems! You are always quick to cut down Chandler Motorsports! You must have a good reason! Is it Personal?

 

I am running a CMS in my formula. No issues

 

I recently installed one on my 96 Formula. It crapped out after allowing me to fire up the vehicle twice. I installed an opti I had laying around and the vehicle fired right up multiple times. They were quick to respond for the replacement but it will sit on the shelf till i need it once again.

Stock Opti with a MSD cap and rotor shifting at 7,200 no problems here. I tried the other options at the time and had nothing but head ackes. I could not see doing a whole wiring harness and PCM for just that so I bough a DFI It was about the same price...

 

i just baught a delco remy that was 280. but now my car cuts out when i get into it a little sometimes and i cant figure it out. opti is only 2 days old!!anyone have any suggestion thatd be cool

 

I have nothing personal against CMS optis whatsoever. I never said specifically that CMS brand opti's are junk, I just lump all of the cheap knock off brands together and say that they are not genuine GM opti's and I would never use them. I have had some experience with people bringing in cars with cheap replacement opti's that have failed. I always throw in a new GM opti with thread locked rotor screws and wouldn't you know it, I never hear from them again...

 

I put 100 trouble free miles on mine with no issues before the crank thrust bearing went to lunch.

 

I've got about 6k on CMS cap and rotor...no issues yet

 

300 miles on mine so far. Still running strong *fingers crossed*

 

i bought one from cms through ebay for like 80 bucks last spring. its still running fine no issues. honestly thier optis look pretty well built.
