Well he did a throttle body bypass as well, usually RR aren't the first modification people do. I hope those aren't stock springs.

are they 1.5 or 1.6's. He might have been working his way to a cam if those are still stock springs.

Coolant isn't routed through the throttle body, meaning that the air entering the intake isn't being warmed up by the hot coolant.

Gotchya, so there is no way to tell stock springs from aftermarket ones

Yes, just look at them n compare them to stock ones... Alternatively you could take one off n pressure test it.

Believe it or not there are cams out there that are mild enough to sound stock yet do surprisingly well over other cams that yield a choppy idle.

My car had ported heads, springs, rockers on it when I bought it, the rest was 100% stock down to the paper filter. It was a nice surprise I found when I did my first cam swap.

Its true, You prolly have a cam, When I bought my z06, I was told it was stock, I came to put it a cam in it, I found out it was a very small cam that was pushin good numbers.

Not necessarily as when I first got my car back in 95' and didn't know a damn thing about motors I started throwing all kinds of upgrades to it. One of the first things I did was Crane Gold 1.6RR's and then some headers. After that the real education started as I turned a bearing on the crank and built up a 383. Now I know better but some people just are sold on what they are told by a performance shop and here in Houston back in the day it was MTI.
