OP: I am very interested in what you end up choosing because I am in a similar situation. I have an entire LE2 sitting here with a bottom end that needs to be rebuilt.

I was personally looking at the Advanced Induction rotating assemblies here:
http://www.advancedinduction.com/AiP...sCompStar.html

I dunno if you have seen them or not.

Good Luck!

This is why I'm here , I want to get the right parts.
I talked to Lloyd Elliot today , I was checking if my LE2 kit was done and while I had him on the phone I asked him what he will suggest me for pistons etc. He said -10cc would be the best but 2nd choice was the -16cc.
Maybe I forgot to tell him something important and this is why he suggested me those dished pistons.

I'm already talking to Corey , I just want to make sure I'll be getting the right parts.

June 10 2010.

LE2 kit with ported intake and custom camshaft are leaving Lloyd's place today.

Still haven't figured out what short block I'll be running yet.

I'm also interested in a used short block that can work with my set up in Eastern US or Canada.
Willing to drive or have it ship to the N.Y / Canada border.

One clic away of buying this :

Let me know what you think please.

385 LT1 4 Bolt main shortblock. Scat 9000 lightweight forged crank, Scat forged rods, Mallory Forged Pistons -5cc. Balanced and Blueprinted (have blueprint documentation to go with it). ARP main studs, Clevite bearings throughout. Had the normal cleaning, decking, bored to .040 over and honed with deck plates, new frost plugs, etc. Only 3k on it

Built sheet :

Heads have 0.030" shaved with .56cc chamber.

Still gathering parts slowly , one day I'll have a complete motor....

Good question , at first I was going to use Mr.Gasket # 5716 ( 0.026" ) but with the Shortblock I bought , I'm ending up with :
-5cc pistons.
-Block decked 0.016".

-LE2 Heads :
-0.030" Milled.
-0.56cc chamber.

Can't tell what will be the compression ratio.
Can we find out with that information ?

Looks like there is other head gaskets available like :

-FelPro 0.049"
or
-Impala gasket 0.029"

No I have no intention , I want to stay N/A.
The actual motor I have right now will become the "project" motor .
I'll learn with the one I'm gathering parts right now and if I like it , I'll keep it and if I don't like it, I'll try not to do the same mistake on the other motor.

I guess it will be called "live & Learn"

I'm not too sure if you guys ended up with the perfect setup the first time + our driving habit ( or needs ) changes so.

With that setup u will be around 13.1 with 026 gasket but if you use a 49 gasket you will be at 12.3

Do you think "Speed#1" calculation is pretty accurate ?
If yes, is it ok to run 12.3 ?
If not , what will be my next option to lower the compression ?

I like this thread , tons of good infos for me.
