383 short block project with LE2 top end.***Now running***Jan. 2011

I will need to know the exact specs on that engine...Does it have a 3.75 crank, 4.040 bore. head chamber is typically 58cc but ask lloyd for exact specs and the block is it zero decked or .016" removed. WHats the exact number on this one?
But I used those specs above and use 0 decked? with .049 gaskets.
pistons are 5cc valve relief
Comp. Ratio is 11.75
with the same specs and use a 26 impala gasket you will get 12.51
But I used those specs above and use 0 decked? with .049 gaskets.

-385 LT1 4 Bolt main shortblock.
-Scat 9000 lightweight forged crank.
-Scat forged rods.
-Mallory Forged Pistons -5cc.
-Balanced and Blueprinted.
-ARP main studs.
-Clevite bearings throughout.
-Had the normal cleaning, decking, bored to .040 over and honed with deck plates, new frost plugs, etc.
Here's the question I asked Lloyd Elliot last week :
I have one more question tho.
Do you know how much you have removed from the heads ? ( Milled )
This is for personal reference and this may help me figure out the Compression ratio.
His answer :
I milled the heads .030 and they have a .56 cc chamber.
This is all I know about my kit.

Since all I have is the LE2 heads , intake , camshaft and a shortBlock , I'll be missing all kind of hardware , fittings , oil pick up tubes etc.
Today ( June 27 2010 ) I picked up a complete motor from a 1994 Camaro Z28 convertible .
Motor is good but leaking oil everywhere , no big deal , all I want is misc. stuff from it.
Tomorrow ( June 28 th ) I'm going to Platsburg N.Y to pick up my short block that came from the seller in Nebraska.

Yeap.
2nd time I buy from him.
Just got back from Plattsburg N.Y ( June 28 ) with the shortBlock & a N.Y State trouper ticket
I haven't looked at the shortblock , I dropped it off at the machine shop for them to inspect it.
I should hear about it next week if they are not too busy.
12.51 ? with the 0.26 Gaskets ?

While waiting for the block to be inspected by the machine shop , I'm shopping for some Roller Rocker 1.6 7/16" studs.
I'm not too sure about "self align" and "none self align" . What do I need and why ?
Thanks.

Ok , since I'm not looking for high RPM but more low end power with the stroker I'll be getting "Self Align" type.
Any brand or specific model I should or should not get ?

So if I'm not mistaking I need :
-1.6:1.
-7/16" studs.
-Self Align.
-Need to clear center valve cover bolt.
Anything else I'm missing ?
Looks like because I have 7/16" studs I have less choices.

Yep I agree, stay away from that big dish piston. As for the roatating assembly personall I dont think you need a forged crank that motors prob only going to twist around 6200 and your not spraying it anyway. If you want to budget minded I'd just run a SCAT Cast 9000 crank, Scat forged I beams and a set of forged aluminum pistons like the SRP's or Wiescos or Mahle's. If you want to step up a bit and be a little more overkill I'd reccomend the Scat Forged Crank and H Beam rods with the same pistons. If you want to get a bit more crazy go with the Callies Compstar stuff its some of the best budget minded stuff I've seen and the price is fair. Should be able to do it under 2k with the callies stuff.
