Ok so 10 days after I've received the new Banjo bolt ( freaking hard to find ) with washers.

On Nov 2nd I bought this stuff to redo the threads .

The old bolts .

and the new one

If any of you need some , here's where to buy them :

I'll try the new bolts this week end.

My car is officially in storage so I have started taking stuff apart .
I'm getting ready to pull the motor out.

Exhaust is out.

To remove the slave cylinder can I just remove the 2 bolts ?
Is it the right way to do it ?

Even the new one we have to do that ?

I had the "screw" issue with my actual one but I didn't know the new one still have the same problem.

Its always a good idea just for your reassurance so you dont blow all that cash on that expensive msd opti and have it fail on you whenever it desides to let go when you couldve just made sure before you put it on. Cant wait for it to go in so we can see/hear it when its all said and done. Got that cam in the mail last week and just waiting for a couple more things to have it all put back together and ready for next spring!

I lost the rotor after only 300 miles on a brand new MSD opti. I never opened it and installed it right out of the box. I assumed it had loctite on it but didn't. So if you love you new 450 dollar investment you will check it.

Dec 1st 2010.

I may run into a fan issue with the new Electric Waterpump :

Meziere WP118HD :

CSR :

I can cut the fan casing but not sure if I can remove enough to clear the new pump.

I was already touching the fan protective housing with the CSR.

My LT1 is in a Mazda RX-7 and I'm using a Ford Taurus V6 fan .
I may not have the same room as you do.
We'll see if I have enough space with the shroud cut if not I'll be using a different setup of fan lile Spal or something like that.

I would be running my csr still, but its shaft seal failed so the motor itself filled with water and shorted out. In less than a year, so I ripped it out and tossed into a pile of parts that wont ever touch my car again.

Make sure you use a fuse on the +12v line and your will be fine.

My csr smelled horrible, brought up memories from the Marines. We had a plane ditch in the saltwater, so they brought the electronics in for me to work on. I opened the covers and black tar rolled out.

Dec. 1st 2010.

Old motor out.

Next motor will go in without harmonic balancer and water pump so I'll have more room and I also found out when the driveshaft is out and you tilt the motor the transmission will empty itself on your clean garage floor......

Inexperienced......

FWIW the Mezeire 118 is shorter than the 118HD...if that buys you anything. I have a spare one in my trunk and it measures 3" from tip to the side that mates to WP housing.

In your pics you measure from the front of the mounting plate to tip...the 118 would be 2 7/8" measured that way

The CSR pump requires no trimming of the fan shroud.

Well at least you didn't leak out a few quarts of amsoil like I did once. Just get a yoke from a driveline shop or off an old driveshaft.

Dec. 3rd 2010.

Slowly working on my project still.

Here's where I'm at right now.

Intake is sealed and torqued , Pro-Billet MSD Optispark with coil and wires done , valve cover tighted with new gaskets.

Headers and water pump are there just for test fit.

Cylinder # 7 won't get the stage 8 lock because it is too tight.

Steam tube ( pipe ) are ok with the new bolts and washers.
I was affraid to have problem with the almost stripped threads I had on the left head but I fixed it with somekind of "JB Weld" paste sold espacially for that type of repair.
