Default Lid Conversion On TA Non-Ramair Hood - Pics

I know there are a hundred threads about this conversion. I don't really have any new information, but most of the pics I have seen are done on Camaro hoods, ram air hoods, or aftermarket hoods. I was never able to find out for sure that this would work with the stock non-ramair TA hood. So I gave it a try and snapped some pics showing what had to be modified. Maybe these will help someone else out.

It fits, but it's tight. When the hood is closed, I swear you can see the SLP applique pushing through. Still got a few things left to tidy up, but it's mostly done. Hope this helps a fellow TA owner who may be thinking about this.

IMO it will work so much better on a ram air hood bc u dont have to cut on the frame of the car, probably just trim under the radiator support.

Anyways it looks nice and clean good job!

I have been wanting to do this for a while. I have seen countless writeups on the Camaros but not many on Formula's or T/A's with non ram air. I actually like the way my Formula looks with the stock hood and don't want to switch to a Ram Air hood. Thanks for the writeup.

That's exactly why I posted the pics. I wasn't 100% sure it was going to fit, but I went for it anyway. I was a little surprised at the amount to trim off the hood, but it wasn't too bad I guess. I am going to even out the hood cuts a little and smooth them out some more with a grinder, then take some rubber tubing and split it and shove it onto the edges to make it look a little more finished. My car is going in for paint in a few weeks and I wanted to get this done before painting so that once the underside of the hood is painted it won't look too bad.

Feel free to pm me if you have questions.
