what did you do to the shifter to stop it from moving into neutral on accident? so you dont accidentially hit neutral when you are shifting it forward into 3rd?

hes very helpful and a great guy to talk to and deal with....
as for the shifter.......lol i didn't do anything to it.....im just careful with it like i said its a bone stock shifter.......for me it works fine.......took some getting used to but im fine with it now......i shift consistant with it no need for some crazy shifter IMO....but yea if you push it too far forward it will go into neutral.....gotta just remember that lol i did that once when i first put the valve body in it and ii tossed the motor up off of the rev limiter........xfi recorded 8450rpm lol oops

I think so too larry, im gonna be giving you a call for one of those LS1 Alternator relocation brackets. I'm tossing the PS pump and rack for a manual one.
Thanks!! It was great meeting you too....cant wait till next year.
Thanks, as did yours....congrats on your win too!!
you too tanner...yea the color isn't bad lol
it did i played around with the suspension and got it to hook hard in bg....made a 1.401 60' on one of my passes.....so with the good air up here in new england now and the weight i just pulled and hopefully getting the timing back in the launch im hoping for 10.20's if not high 10.10's before the end of the year. We'll see......
the shootout was awesome some great people down there........next year im taking that monday outta work so i can stay and party afterwords
do you ever come down to new england and race??

glad to hear it! New england, dam that is far from the detroit area. if there was a big late model f body that i fit into, i would consider it. i have a wife and 2 kids, they are the #1 priority, not the car. if you ever come a bit west to race be sure to let me know. never know how far i might go to t'n't. yeah you definitely made a trek from your hometown! i got off easy this year, my rtip was under 9 hrs.
any time any time lol......keep workin on that thing i wanna see two low/sub 10 second lt1's at NED next year!!!
Thanks!!!!

well i did the install on the battery and the catch can yesterday.......after dipping the front of the car in slim fast I managed to shave 63lbs off the nose all infront of the front wheels!!!!!
Now for Round 2 of Weight Reduction.....
Got a BMR Manual Rack on the way
Speed Inc LS1 Alternator Relocation Bracket
!Deleteing the Accessory Bracket off the front of the motor
!Swapping LT1 alternator for lighter LS1 alternator
Installing a set of Madman Travel Limiters
Fixed broken QA1 shock mount due to suspension hanging on launch
should be interesting.......cant wait to see what it does now!!!
hopefully track this friday if all the parts come in on time and i can get the toe aligned......

63 OR 53LBS IS ACTUALLY SHAVED OFF?
is the ls1 alternator a direct swap? what needs to be done if not?

[QUOTE=robsquikz28;13917847] i got 63lbs off of it so far but after the ps swap and a few otha things im expecting to be in the 100-110 range.....100lbs should make a big difference espically being right off the front of the car....
as for the alternator not so much lol.....speed inc. makes a relocation bracket to mount the ls1 alternator down low on the motor like where the AC compressor goes....but then you've gotta ditch the accessory bracket and PS pump........im going manual so its no big deal.....but Speed Inc. does make a kit to move both the alternator (LS1 style) and PS pump....it looks pretty trick.....
I'll have some pics up later this week everything is coming in wed and thurs....

getting there
got the car stripped and cleaned up last night........painted a bit and tried to make it look a little better for now.......man i cannot beleive the space i have now with all that garbage gone!!! Plus now you can see the labeling on the Trick Flow "195cc" heads
#77
I have those same heads and they have no markings! WTF???? lol. I got mine when they JUST came out though (2005ish), so maybe they recently did that, who knows.
Take the fenders off and get the excess fender metal out of there. You can get 7lbs per side. While you had the front bumper supports off you should have trimmed the frame horns off. They are 6lbs each. Once you start you can't stop, lol. Door bars, rear seat brackets, rear stereo speakers, excess metal EVERYWHERE, etc, etc..... Get her down to fighting weight and you'll rip a 9 this year.
