Default Anybody running MT 295/45r/17 Drag radial?

how well do they hook up? right now im running MT 275/40/17s and its like hit or miss with them, some nights i just blow them off and other nights they hook up great, 1.4 to 1.5 60ft times. I didnt know if the wider and taller tire would help? im also looking at the Hoosier 28x10x17 hoosier drag slick? i want to keep it as street legal as possible but if it takes a slick to hook up then i dont care, i will still drive it on the street

Tire choice doesn't mean dick if you don't have the suspension to compliment it.

Not to mention you don't list any of your mods, what kind of car, what kind of drivetrain, etc. This is becoming a serious problem nowadays where people fail to provide the info for anyone to make any kind of helpful suggestion.

They are exactly the same as any other M/T drag radial I had except the tire ht. If you need the ht, this tire is perfect for you.

The OP is trapping well above 120. So I suggested he make the move to a 28" tire. If the 295/45/17 is almost the exact same just a 28 then it should work real nice.

What gear and tranny is he running? Suspension helps any good tire hook better but gear and tranny type is what really determines tire height.

Im not sure what you consider hooking, but id put my left nut on the line saying its almost impossible to go even a 1.7 60" on these. Everyone who I personally know who has ever ran it blows the hell out of it. Yea its like two foot wide, but the sidewall it tiny tiny. It only measures out to a 25.x height. Reggies car has been 1.4x 60ft on the 275-40-17s and that was about a miracle. He is looking for the best tire to keep the tractions consistent in his 10 second car, and still keep it on a 17 inch wheel.

3.23 gear, TH350 is what the car has.

The 295 the OP posted about would hook a hell of a lot better than that sub 26" tire.

Reggie those M&H tires look pretty badass. Whatever you go with just make sure its 28" tall or you will go nowhere but sideways!

What's the difference between those M&H tires and these 295/45's?:
http://www.summitracing.com/parts/MTT-3745R/?rtype=10

Both fit on a 17" rim? My ROH's are only 8.5" too.
