Default Edelbrock headers vs stock manifolds

Okay, I know the edelbrock headers and y-pipe have got to be about the worst headers out there for the lt1 just from looking at them. I've also seen many posts proclaiming how bad they suck.

What I want to know is are they so bad that they are worse than the stock manifolds and Y ? I'd think they would at least not hurt power and make plug changes eaiser.

The only reason I ask is I have a set that came with a 95 Z28 M6 I bought with a knocking engine. They are used, rusty and the AIR/EGR connections are plugged, but were not on this car as it still has manifolds. Wondering if I should even consider using them when I reinstall the engine or just stick with the manifolds? Please don't recommend another brand of header because I already know that others are much better and what I'd probably use. I'm asking this because for now it's a bottom dollar budget build and I'm using what I have. Edelbrock or iron manifolds.

Yeah if you don't mind them not really making any more power than stock I'd throw them on, like you said it would make plug changes easier.

Might sound a little better too.

Also, if the emissions are already deleted, get rid of the rest!
Will make everything else much easier too!

Between the two? Edelbrock. A little better than stock and easier on plug changes. One of my first mods way back.

No brainer that the edelbrocks will be better than stock, even if it isn't a significant amount. The cosmetics and ease of maintenance/elbow room are added benefits too.

ANY header (even the Edelbrocks) are better than stock manifolds. No brainer here.

As said above the edlebrocks are much better than the stock manifolds. The stockers are restrictive as crap.
