Default New LT1 N2O record!!!!! 8.68 @ 153.51 mph

Thought I would make this official and make my own thread.

After many years of busting ***** on this car it has finally come together. I first want to thank my wife, family, Nitrous Outlet, Madman, AFR, friends, crew, and all of you from the LTX community who have encouraged me for so long.

I also want to give a big shout out to the past record holder Mike Jacobs for a great combo he has. Also big shout to my pal Taner Bosnali for being right there at the record as well.

On the big day,

First pass off the trailer broke the record (but I was not finished!)...lol

R/T......... .166
60.......... 1.35
330........ 3.671
1/8......... 5.639
MPH........ 124.72
1000....... 7.348
1/4......... 8.800
MPH........ 153.30

Second pass we made one adjustment to the suspension and changed to a different spark plug.

R/T........... .405
60............ 1.288 (on the rears)
330.......... 3.563
1/8.......... 5.52
MPH......... 125.00
1000........ 7.230
1/4.......... 8.68 (CURRENT LT1 N2O RECORD NOV 13TH 2010)
MPH......... 153.51

Third run we wanted to make a backup run to the record. We dropped two degrees of timing just to see if it would like it. Turns out it did not but still did well.

R/T.......... .211
60........... 1.277
330......... 3.611
1/8......... 5.590
MPH........ 124.17
1000....... 7.306
1/4......... 8.764
MPH........ 152.661

Final run we wanted to try the 2nd stage just to see if it works. I put in a delay of 5 seconds for the 2nd kit to turn on. This was intended to show us if the kit turns on and if the tune is way off it wont be on long enough to hurt the motor. It did turn on but the datalog shows it was very very rich so the car did not pick up anything but 1 mph. We wanted to make changes and pull some fuel out of the tuneup but we ran out of time. So this untuned 2nd kit was only on for about 3 seconds.

R/T...... .348
60....... 1.298
330..... 3.641
1/8..... 5.630
MPH.... 123.86
1000... 7.340
1/4..... 8.78
MPH.... 154.12 (my fastest MPH)

Again thanks to all for the support! I will keep pushing this LT1 as hard as I can. You all know I will!

My crew:
Nitro Dave, Moe Bailey, Charles Bourassa, Kyle McKenzie, Sean Gustin, Cameron Dees, Ray Hinton, Chris Isbel, Jeff Colvin, Brian Townsend, if I forgot someone im sorry. lol

That's awesome Tony. Contrats! You deserve it. I am sure you will go even deeper when the 2nd stage is tuned up.

Awesome run man, a launch like that some of us can only dream of!

Congrats on the record!

Just wondering, what exactly are the requirements for the record? Heads and cam allowed? What kind of bottom end in the engine? Not trying to insult you, just trying to figure out why exactly its a record

Requirements are as follows.

1. LT1 block
2. N2O is the only power adder
3. Anything else is allowed, any heads, cam, bore/stroke, etc, etc.

Good job Tony!

It's the N20 record period... No matter what's done do it.

Simple, A-have a LTx engine. B-use nitrous. Those are the requirements for LTx nitrous record.
