As far as rebuild kits go, let a machine shop use what they recommend. Reason being is if you use something the shop doesn't like or endorse and there is a failure they can always blame it on your parts and you are SOL for any sort of warranty work.
Well me, and the guy that started this thread, will rebuilt it ourselves so the shop isnt a problem.

As far as rebuilds goes, and it does sound like you're going to need one, what are you looking to do? stock rebuild? 355, 383? what kind of power do you want to push? budget? We're going to need this information to give you advise on kits and parts.

Even with the oil pump pickup off and the oil level full you should still have oil pressure at idle as the pump inlet is still submerged. I doubt it's the pickup.

We are just talking a stock budget rebuild. Probably just order the bearings and rings separate and a gasket set.

just listened to the video.......all i can say is......get out the catalog and find a machine shop that thing is toast trust me........
