if its leaking under the battery then the cross over tube to the overflow has a leak. im gonna subscribe to this. im having a similar problem. the car has a slow leak when i turn it on. it overheated the other day and was blowing steam out of the rad. cap. i cant figure out where the leak is coming from though. im taking it to school tomorrow and putting it up on the lift. ill let you know what i find.

btw, it the new t-stat you put in the lt1 specific long thermostat? because of the reverse flow, regular sbc t-stats wont work right.

well it seems like i have bigger problems. my radiator core is busted. i think the t-stat got stuck closed, causing it to bust. time for a new rad. luckily they only run like 100 bucks. gonna throw in a 160 t-stat while im at it

Check your sparkplug on the driverside closest to your firewall #8 cyl. Mine always backs out for some reason and smells horrible in the car...

Definately check the T-stat, my formula kept doing the exact same thing when I first got it. It would get super hot even with the fans on. Then finally i put a new 160 stat in there and fixed it right up!
Good luck!

you may have a bad relay, pull it out and make a jump wire and jump it and see if it come on, if the fan come on it a bad relay

also turn your A/C on then look and see if your fans are, on they should turn on when you turn the a/c on
