Default Wideband Install Q..

I know how to hook up the wires and whatnot. My question is where should i weld the new Bung for the new o2? Should i weld it close to the collector on one of the headers? or should i put it at my Y pipe to get a better reading of both sides?

How is it a good idea to put it on one side only and not at a merge ? where is a dyno shop going to put it for A/F vs RPM if you dont have a bung? i was thinking of putting one in the middle of my X-pipe

Thanks for the reply. I was figuring to keep it as close to the header to keep it as hot as possible. I just wasnt sure how it would affect it between the 2 banks. thus putting it at the Y

I was also wondering where to place the bung.Hey SoxXpuPeT what wideband are you running? I am going to run an autometer digital sportcomp and it has a heated o2, anyone ever use these?

You want to put it in the collector on one side or the other. I tried it on both sides and took the leaner side and keep it there. Mine is the passenger side.

I have an Innovate LM1 and love it. I am switching to the LC1 and just going to integrate it into my DFI so I won't need the LM1 display clogging up the passenger seat

I purchased the AEM wideband. For $100 less then the Autometer, and with no one ever having problems with them. it was a no brainer.

Thanks for all the responses guys! Im going to try to get it installed tomorrow. With 3" on the way i can only hope to do it.

Would a dual setup be better or just more of a headache?

It would probably just be overkill. Alot of fast cars usually run single widebands. If everyone runs them at the collector. I guess ill be doing the same

I will sell if after the LC1 goes in. I only have 1 O2 Sensor, so you will need to purchase that.

The way I figured was this. If you have it in the y-pipe at the merge, you get an average of all 8 cylinders, which is useful, but I want to be safe. So, I checked on both sides and put it on the leaner of the 2 sides. This way when I tune, I am tuning the lean side to be correct and the other side will end up being a little rich which is much better than the rich side being right and the lean side being too lean.

Good point. When i get the chance to install it ill be sure to use that method. I didnt get the chance to do anything with it today because my car is now throwing a code 44 It only happens when the car is warmed up. I have to check fuel pressure but im positive that its ok. I think my opti spark is done. IDK if that would cause that. My o2's are fairly new and the problem just started. I know my opti is on its way out, plus with all the snow weve gotten here in NY i know it isnt helping matters at all... sorry. just had to vent that out there
