1 of about 5 stupid posts in this thread.

Wicked, glad to see you step up for the LT1 crowd - the product looks promising!

Just a request for the sake of what Wicked is trying to do here... Could you not try and sell your stuff in this thread? Doesn't seem like a very classy move. Thanks.

I wish there was a way to replace the opti sensor without replacing the entire damn unit.

Wicked...How would this be as far as a cammed/bolt on street car? Any drivability issues? Wouldnt mind picking one up/maybe installing at the Shootout this year...

As long as the airgaps are set correctly the PCM won't know the difference. The only airgap to be set by you guys would be the crank trigger, which unfortunately ends up being the most sensitive. I'm working on a bracket for it that will both minimize vibration and offer the easiest adjustability. Kind of a challenge with the opti pushing everything out so far.

Is there anyway to get this input from the factory crank position sensor on 96-97 models? I swapped knock sensors and the pcm on my 97 to 95 parts to go to obd1, but the crank pos sensor and everything else is still there and along for the ride.

No, it won't support that kind of resolution. Look at the tip on that sensor I'll be using. The teeth on the wheel are only .06" wide.

I knew the answer would be no since that would have made it too easy.....and you have surely thought of it before. It's just nice to know why it won't work. My car started missing today. It has been on a MSD opti for at least 8K miles now. I'm not sure how long it was in before I got it. I'm not going to jump and say it's bad until I check everything out, but it's definately in the back of my mind. I was hoping it would last at least until this is ready. Oh well, I still want one of your first ones. I've got a used delco unit I can install in the meantime if I have to.

So would this work on my 93? I have a pro billet on there now. My msd cap and rotor did fail on mine a few years ago. I'm sure it was attributed to other problems but none the less the rotor arched all the way down itself onto the shutter wheel. Only had to replace cap and rotor but I'm very interest in this. Great job either way.

Also would anything else be needed? Or is it just remove old opti install new unit, adjust sensors, plug in harness and go?

Nothing else needed. PnP harness, and just set up the crank trigger.
