I just had an idea hit me that seems so simple that there must be some reason it won't work or surely someone else would have mentioned it:
What about just using a 1999 (?) crankshaft that had the longer length giving the same distance from the block face to the crank flange as the traditional chevrolet v8's??
Could I just use my LT1 t56 with the stock bellhousing, clutch, flywheel, hydraulics, etc.???
Either this is a great idea or I'm about to get shot down with a reason why.
(Posted in another thread, but it fits here also.)

Well there hasn't been any real activity here in awhile on Matt's part, and for good reason. As some may know, he's been busy with finishing his degree and just went through finals. He's graduating with a 4.0 so....
Congrats buddy!
Congrats buddy!

I'm waiting......lol
I'd really like to see how my car on the bottle would stack up against your turbo at like 7 lbs though. Probably futile, but I think it would be interesting.
I mean, you know I'm running that "super secret" cam....lol

Merv, that *** end is going to be super light as is. The stock v6 will spin the rear wheels easily, let alone an ls1. I wouldn't bother with a snail, as you would never hook. If you're going for a smoke show, you already have more than enough with the v-8 swap. My .02

Thats why you go to the scrap yard hunting and find an AWD Safari van and transplant the front diff and transfer case so it will hook. My buddy has a early S10 with a L98 Twin Turbo AWD setup. Works and hooks like hell... if only he could get the thing to run at the potential it should be at with the bullshit tpi ecm.
