I owned a 97 LT1 for 2 years. The last 6 months of it's life had an LS1 swapped into it.. And there was a reason it was swapped.. Power. Hell it was worth the swap just for ease of plugs/wires change

I don't get people saying they like being the underdog... and "anyone can make an LS1 fast, it takes knowledge and hard work to make an LT1 fast".... Since when has ANYONE ever thought about a way to make something fast, happen slower??? The way I see it, do you like to go fast or not?

I enjoyed my LT1 a ton, and still may build a fun toy LT1 body formula with a h/c N2O 396 LT4 someday. I just might.. But son of a bitch, the basic bolton LT1 owners are something else.. I was in that boat too of not being able to afford a nice LS1 at one point, but I was never in denial.

I already had to much in my suspension to have money for an LS1 car when my LT1 died on me after 175,000 miles. So, I ended up building another LT1 with h/c and I'm pretty happy with it honestly. My next car will most likely be a Corvette however and C5's and C6's are the only ones I'm considering honestly.

I love them both. I miss the looks and style of my LT1 Z28. It was flawless and nothing sounded more mean then my custom LE cam though open cut out. I got a woody every time I started it up. In the end, I love my LS1 T/A even more for different reasons. One day it will be a C6 Z06 and I will post in the LSx boards about how the LS1 is weak and I love the Vette more...and then...and then We are all in the same gang and no hating needs to go on

Your reading comprehension is usually better then that SSRRR.

If you read the quote above my post, you would see that it was in reference to us LT1 guys "not being able to afford" an LS car.

The fact is, if I wanted an LSX car I would have one, period. I don't give a **** about mod for mod potential or HP per dollar, I like my LT1.

The reason why the LT1 has been faster is the same reason why the LS1 CARS are faster. If I could get a 454 LTx block you think I'd stick with the LT1?! Hell no.

15 degree heads on an aluminum block can go fast
23 degree heads on an iron block can go fast
15 degree heads on a larger bore iron block can go faster

Where did i say in my first post that one engine is better than the other?

What you can't read? Right i didnt, all i said was both engines are great.

Why are you comparing an lt1 to an lsx? Dont you mean ls1. By the way your right they

both have same engine bay size , but it is harder to work on

an lt1 than ls1 you should know that.

Proper sentence structure and quoting what you are replying to would make this post look a lot less retarded.

Post up your dyno chart or track #'s for comparison. You're on like your 5th lsx motor now so I'm sure you have some impressive results to share.

Hard to believe but I actually got some good info out of this thread. I thought the horn on my LS1 was broken and I seriously was going to get a replacement since it sounds like crap compared to my old LT1. So that's how a LS1 horn is SUPPOSED to sound (weak, one note)?

Other than that, a lot of good pics, but otherwise this thread is a:

lol no problem man, LS1 horn to me sounds like a loud bicycle horn. I made fun of my friends plenty until he actually went to the junkyard and grabbed one off a buick or something then swapped it in.
