As some of you may know, the northeast is getting completely slammed with rain right now, unfortunatly I had to drive my TA home today, I was on the highway for about 5 mins and, the road is pretty covered in rain, it starts stumbling around 2 grand for a few seconds, then clears up and goes, does this process until i get home. When im at a stop it idles fine, no surging. Im thinking my wires are arcing somewhere or theres something wrong with the coil, I really hope the opti isnt out already (3000 miles old). New Opti, fuel pump, FPR, Opti (GM), ICM, and Spark plugs, TPS, only things not replaced are the plug wires, MAP, and coil. Maybe I hit a puddle too hard?

A puddle claimed the life of my first opti.
Went pretty much the same way ... the next morning, she was backfiring like crazy.
That was also the day I learned that staring into the TB of a backfiring engine is a bad idea.

I don't get all these rain problems people report. I have driven my TA down the Interstate in rain so hard that some people would pull off the road or drive with their flashers and not a sputter. Same with the 95 I used to have. Have you guys removed the panels along the bottom that cover the area behind the front bumper, or maybe your plastic wheel well liners? I know those don't cover the opti, but removing them will change your airflow under the car and might cause water to blow where it normally wouldn't.
