Default 385 LT1 new best.

Ran the first points race at Route 66 this weekend.

Car is same as last year. Lost 100 lbs. Little tighter converter. Otherwise same. Even same plugs and oil. I will change this weekend.

New best 1/8th.
1.434
4.171
6.488
105.54
8.488
10.301
115.12
I lifted at the 1000' mark Had the guy covered by a bunch.

New 1/4.
1.438
4.186
6.501
105.83
8.497
10.190
127.04
Oh yeah lifted on this guy also. Earlier in the day. I went 133.03 with a 10.22.

The math on the first pass shows a 10.184. I just don't have a timeslip that says it. So I am going with the new best of 10.190

I would love to. I entered last year and never went. There is a big dollar bracket race on the same weekend in Byron. I can't pass up going there. I pays way too much.

It's a solid roller 385
Eagle rotate assembly
Jesel rockers
AFR heads (too big) 227
I got a good deal on them
Super Vic intake.
I run a carb. I wasn't good at EFI. 850 carb shop.
Runs on 110
12.8-1 compression

Backed by a turbo 400 and a 12 bolt.

Basically that's it.

Killer times!!

Are the heads "As-Cast"? Sounds like a carb version of my build. Mind sharing rough cam specs(through PM if you'd like)? Are the heads really "too big" or is it just not enough cam/rpm?

I plan on trying an 8" ATI Treemaster 4800, since I've heard great things about them and are supposed to be surprisingly streetable.

im questioning swapping to one of those........it would be a drastic jump over my 9.5" vigilante........

Thanks guys

I am currently running a trans king converter. 8" It stalls at 5500. I am just borrowing it from a buddy of mine to see if it would work. I was running a Coan 8". It was stalling 6200. too loose for my combo.

I didn't build the motor for real high rpm. Its in a bracket car so it need to be VERY Reliable and make a ton of passes.

I shift at 7000 and go through the traps at 7500.

I run a 4.56 gear. tires are 29.5 x 10.5 stiff. they measure 30" tall.

The heads are nothing special. They only have the AFR comp CNC port job.

I'll give better than rough cam. I don't see any reason to hide stuff.
Its a Cam Motion
.661/.642 272/279.4 107.1 lob sep.
It does have a 4/7 swap

I know there is definitly room for a larger cam.

My goals are to get the car in the 9's on gas. Then I am switching to alcohol.

Ken

Thanks

I don't think the 9's are coming this year. I think I might have a VERY little more in it. Maybe 10.15. The air was pretty good this last weekend.

Next winter I am going to put a vaccuum pump on it and hopefully some strange brakes all the way around. I am hoping with those modifications that should get me a 9.9999999999.

Then comes the injected alcohol.

Everything depends on the economy and money in the old pocket. Like everyone else.

Congratulations on the great ET, getting close enough to the 9's to pursue a new goal!
Good Luck with an already good running combination!

You trapped almost 127 on a 355, ****. What heads were on it.

I too would like to know what all you did in the weight savings department.
