My car is randomly cutting out while idling or cruising, its like the ignition cuts off completely. I'm also getting a random P100 code but the MAF readings look fine. Not sure if this is a sign of the MAF going bad or if there is an underlying problem causing this.

i had that too, cleaned the maf and did a plug/wire change but didnt help. it eventually turned into a nasty backfire followed by my tires barking. it goes away once the high res fail code is finally thrown but then the car runs like poop until you shut it off for a while.

I had a similar problem a few years ago where the car would just cut out for a half a second or so at cruising, WOT whatever it didn't matter what RPM. The problem was intermittent, would happen a few times a day then no problems for a few days. I tried checking all usual suspects, MAF, Ignition Module, plugs, ground connections, wires, opti ect and the problem still remained. It turned out to be a weak battery, never got any indication of low voltage or charging problems although I never did check the charging system. Voltage always looked good on the dummy gauge, never any low voltage light or electrical problems with the lights, radio, ect. Came out to the car one day and the battery was completely dead, tried to jump the car and no luck. Replaced the battery and all my problems went away.
Not sure if this is your problem but something to look into.

So far it hasn't skipped a beat at WOT but consdering the amount of time I'm cruising vs at WOT that doesn't mean much.

My blue LT1 car did the same thing. It turned out to be the little ignition module on top of the column. You can test your car to see if it is bad. Start your car in the driveway and then wiggle the key around. See if it starts to sputter. My car would randomly just shut right off at times, when the wheel was turned. It would only shut off for a half second or so. Scared the **** out of me, and it was totally random.

Yep, just like someone turned the key off. It's actually the ignition switch not "module" like I stated earlier. When you turn the key to "ignition" there are skinny rods on top of the column that slide down and make contact enabling the circuit to happen.
