Default Anyone using the Meziere HD EWP?

There area few differences between a non-HD and and HD pump - anyone running the HD unit? My circa-1999 EWP has decided to **** the bed, and I'm debating between the two units as replacements.

IMO you should just send that one in to have it rebuilt.

I believe they have a $100 flat rate IIRC. I also think the fan shroud would have to be cut into more to make a HD pump fit.

yes the HD does protrude more than the non HD pump. you gotta cut the shroud till you almost hit the fan blades.

it is something like 42gpm for regular and 50gpm for HD.
the non HD has been more than enough water pump to handle the hot-lapping and sitting in traffic for me.

The meziere pumps I've dealt with were all disappointing junk.

The CSR has worked much better and reliably for us. FWIW

Therefore art thou Grumpy Pants Greg spoketh to where thou heedeth thine message. If to which thine message is not heedethed, doom and destruction thou shalt strike upon thee with furious vengeance and anger towards thine Meziere waterpump for his name is Gumpy Pants Greg!

I'm using the HD pump. I had to go redneck and hack the hell out of my fan shroud - ie about 1/5 of the cover over the fan is gone now.

But after that it fits and works fine

WOW, my meziere has been on for 12 years now

what exactly makes it "dissappointing junk" for you?

OP

the HD is about 3/8"-1/2" longer than standard and flows more GPH. For my application space is not a problem but my buddy has a 95 F-body and the standard did require some fan shrouud clearing...HD would require more.

One friend has been through two if them in a short span. Another bought one a while back that was DOA.

Just google and look at all the failures. The local guys who use CSR never have problems. That's what im running as well on the new build.
