Default rear end gears ???????

Hi I was trying to find out what my stock gears are I have a 94 z28 a4?

They should be 3.23's and 3.42's for manuals.

Guys...its an A4 he has two options for gear ratios lol

OP, on your shifter do you have the option to select first?

A4's came w/ 3.23's. I have a 94. 6speed came w/ 3.42's. FROM THE FACTORY.

Whats an option for select first????

The autos also came with 3.08's.

That is incorrect. Some A4's w/ 110mph governor, mostly the convertibles came with 2.73's. I don't even think GM made a 3.08 gear. Ford maybe.

Correct my 94 z28 cam with factory 2.73 and has no low 1 option on shifter

Humm... my Factory Calibration was with 3.08's. sorry. and i know i did the tuning and the gear swap.

4th gen LT1 cars came with 2.73, 3.23 or 3.42 ratios. Nothing else. 3.08 was used in V6 cars.

Post up a legit, unaltered SPID label showing an f-body LT1 VIN with RPO code GU4 (3.08:1 ratio). That would be some proof. Or post your VIN so it can be looked up. GU4 is not listed as a gear code with the LT1. It has nothing to do with the "internet experts"...just GM.

Perhaps he had a v6 rear in his car, but I doubt it cause it would have been an open diff as well, cause the v6 didn't really need posi lol.

Easy way to find out- Jack car up, chalk DS and tire. Turn tire one rotation and count how many DS rotations.

just call your local chevy dealership and give them your vin they can tell you what you got. stop guessing
