Default 24X harness repin?

I am looking to have my harness repined to run the 24x ignition, but I can not find anyone how offers this. Is there anyone out there that will repin your stock harness to work with a 24x ls1 pcm? I emailed www.pro-jectioneng.com, but they have not responded yet.

I did it, it's not that hard. You can do it with the engine in the car. I did mine out since the engine is out, but you can do it. it will take a solid day. here's my writeup progress. i'll get more pics when i get it close to getting back in the car

Thanks that will help a lot, but how did you go about removing the wires from the 4 red, blue, white and black plugs and installing them into the 2 ls1 harness plugs. Is there a lot of cutting and soldering needed or is it simply just unplug wires from the existing 4 plugs and place them into the two new plugs?

it's really easy to take them out and yes that is the gist of what you are doing. Moving pin from harness A over to harness B in a different hole.

You use the pin tool that comes with the 24x kit. You can even remove them by hand, they are easy to take out, you just have to look at the mechanism. I did not do soldering, just took out extra wires that I didn't use (traction control, air pump, etc), but you can just as easily leave all that in there. think of it like wiring a car stereo that has 4 outputs for speakers and you only end up using two. You don't have to cut/remove the other 2.

That sounds like a easy job then; I am going to give it a try I am just about sure I am capable of doing it. It will sure save me some cash if I do it myself.

A PCM terminal removal tool is not included in the 24x kit. However, a crank sensor connector terminal removal tool is included in DIY 96-97 kits.

Agreed. It's an expensive tool that can easily be substituted with a fingernail or a small screwdriver.

I am going to be repining mine myself and from what i have seen and read it seems like a rather straight forward process. It will also give me the opportunity to remove all the unused connectors. There is many threads that i have found that are on the 24x conversion that have useful information in them.

I am going to start and hopefully finish this week end. The only questions I have is I did find these for the ls1 pcm http://www.eficonnection.com/coilper...s_LS1_Blue.jpg
http://www.eficonnection.com/coilper...ns_LS1_Red.jpg
but what about the lt1 pcm harness?

I see the lt1 pinouts are on the right and the ls1 pinouts are on the left.

Those two files should not be a substitute for using LS1 and LT1 schematics while reworking your harness. However, they will take you through much of the rework. The best deal on getting GM schematics is at http://www.alldatadiy.com. Regarding those two files, the frequent question is, "In this pinout comparison, are cylinders 2&3 and 7&4 swapped?" Just in asking this question, it's telling that LS1 schematics are not being used because a quick look at the LS1 injector and/or coil schematics would easily answer the question.

follow the guide as mike says. The red/blue are exactly as you need them for the LT1. I made the same mistake, but just a little more reading and prep. I also downloaded the schematics for the 2000 ls1 engine and i have the factory manuals.

the trick is to really think one circuit at a time one wire at a time. and keep track of what you are doing.

If you can't get them let me know. I can get them from Mitchell and AllData.

^ Thanks, but I just printed out all of the info for the pcm connectors on the lt1 now I am going to look up the info for a 2000 z28. This job is starting to look simple; I am sure I can have it done in one day, just depends on how dificult it is to remove the pins from the old harness and install them into the new ls1 connectors.
