Yeah i need to stop slacking. I'm dropping the rest of the rotating assembly off monday to be balanced. Only thing i need to do still is send the transmission off to be upgraded.

Time for a update. Motor is back from machine shop and looks great. NPT Machine Shop does great work and Bob is a easy going guy. So anyone in the area may want to check with him for your needs. Everything has been installed including the heads. Just need to measure pushrod length and tell AI what length i need and send them my intake to port it for the Trickflow heads. Still need to send the transmission off to TDP to have them upgrade it. Engine harness came in today from EFI Connections and it looks damn good. It's coming along real well and I'm pretty pleased with the results so far. Enjoy the new pics

looks awesome...make sure the head bolts are sealed w/ the appropriate clear RTV on the top 2/3 and dipped in oil on the bottom 1/3. Don't ask how i know this is critical...

ARPs. Despite there being several issues on my 398 build, one was no sealant (long story as to why) on the head bolts and coolant getting in the oil. Then shortly afterwards the head gaskets blew from detonation/over compression and the flood of coolant poored in....

running the arp's in mine as well. i just put a little arp thread sealant on the first 4 threads and toss them in. no problems thus far. i also put arp lube under the bolt heads where they contact the washer.

That makes two of us! I'm hoping it will put down a good amount of horsepower.

Currently have some 17 inch rims that have Nitto NT555R on them. I'm unsure if i'm going to stick with the Nittos or switch over to some MT Street Radials for street driving.

What pushrods are you going to get? I run Trend pushrods. They are an excellent company to deal with. I spent $160 and the turnaround is a few days. They are custom built to whatever specs you want.

I am getting them from AI. I had them add them when i ordered my heads and cam. Just have to let them know the correct length and they will send them out.

Figured i would do a update. Intake has been sent to AI to be port matched to the Trickflow heads from them. Transmission has been sent down to TDP to get a Stage 3 upgrade done to it. How is everyone keeping their plug wires away from the headers once they have done a 24x conversion? I am already going to use DEI spark plug wire and boot protectors.

MSD sells little clips for the wires to join two of them together. I used cut-to-length MSD wires as well.

I'm subscribing this is gonna be one tire shredder beast once done

The wires I also used DIY MSD's and put some zipties on a few that needed them.

Jason (TDP) is a great guy and really knows his stuff. He tore down my T-56 in about 15 minutes and showed me alot of problems I had with it. I got a stage 2 upgrade from him and changed 5th and 6th gears out.

I'm glad I went with the Efi conversion as well its a awesome setup. Not to mention the tuning availability that it opens up. Not a lot people are dealing with the Lt1 its all about the Ls stuff now days and its great to have the best of both!

Thanks man! Jason is a great guy and does know his stuff. I have read nothing but good things about the guy and haven't heard of any issues with any of his rebuilds not holding up. I did find out that he is originally from Illinois and only a hour south of where i live. Kind of ironic. The main reason i went with efi connections conversion is for tuning. I will be running a 3 bar SD tune utilizing EFI Live.
