Default LT1 after market cam check???

LT1 after market cam check? Found a few nice parts on the LT1 out of the red car this weekend. I can tell by the way the intake was painted the motor has been out. Can i put a dial guage on the pushrod side of the rocker arm and measure lift? At the very least, the lift should be different from a stock cam.

Would give you some clue but lifter bleeddown will lower the numbers below the actual lift of the cam.

Could get closer if you could put some very light springs in it to avoid the lifter bleed down.

Just loosen the rocker until it gets slightly wiggly. Then put the dial gauge on. Measure a few times. Should be in the ball park.

Not a bad idea, Im thinking of pulling the intake and measure straight off the lifter.. That would get me a little closer..
