Exactly, plus the 750hp is so damn civilized. I want some grunt, but it can be very hard to keep it where it doesn't become annoying, day in and day out, if one were to modify their once "anemic" car.

LMAO, yea your absolutely correct, you STILL don't get it...I'm done here. Nowhere did I say the Mustang has too much power....I said it's lacking TRACTION to use that power. How do you explain the examples of the 440hp BOSS and 750hp Supersnake running within .2 in the 1/4 with a 310HP deficit? I'm waiting... Aftermarket slicks are a whole another story, I'm sure the Stang could actually do something impressive with them...otherwise all it's just a dyno queen good for burnouts. FYI...the 5.0 BOSS is the real Mustang to get if you're a Ford lover, it's faster and actually handles for much less dough than a GT500.

I think I get it now... The GT500 has far too much power so it is slower compared to the ZL1 which doesn't have as much power? Therefore the ZL1 has not a blessed thing to worry about? ammirite?
I would DEFINITELY want to buy the car with less power because it's quicker!

I agree, less power is always better. Unless you have tires and suspension that can handle it. That's why my Isuzu 4X4 can out run ZL1's in deep snow. It's mighty unpowerful, but it hooks up. Just think what it will do to a new Mustang

Al, 95 Z28 that has no power or traction problems. 91 Isuzu 4X4, V6, 5 speed, 4.56's in both ends (12 bolts no less)

Oh I bet the ZL1 would beat the living snot out of the GT500 down Deliverance way with a set of Super Swampers! Also would have easily destroyed it during the Blizzard of '82 between Loveland and Denver on I-25 with snow and mudders! That junk pile with too much power GT500.

Looks, like you're finally on to something!...LMAO...yes, me too! (Completely serious here) I would easily take the lesser powered BOSS Stang which is faster than the current GT500 and pocket the $20K if it was my $$....and have a faster better handling car too; not to mention $20K for upgrades. Of course, in reality I would never be seen in a mustang; I'd rather have a gently used LS7 Z06 than a Camaro or Mustang...the whole retro thing has gotten old if you asked me.

Ya, you're right. Lets slap a set of street tires on my 9.00 Camaro and see how fast it is.

Al 73 Camaro, Alcohol injected 489, Glide, Dana 60. 9.00 @ 155 MPH.

"Nearly every gear on the 2013 Ford Shelby GT500 was revised to manage the torque and use more of the power in a way that makes it more driver-friendly. Engineers considered more than 35 gearing combinations, finally deciding on one that delivers less torque all the way through the wheels to the ground and still enables the car to achieve fuel economy targets"

I quoted that from another thread. Im not sure where the information came from or if its true, but I found it interesting. These cars may take off better than we think.
