speedometer stuck on 150?
So last night driving back from PA about an hour from the house the waterpump crapped out. I shut down the car and coasted to the side of the interstate.
The speedometer is now stuck on 150? Any way to fix this? Car has a 24x conversion if that will influence anything.

So the consensus is it is just stuck for some reason? Why did it go there in the first place? I haven't been 150+ in about three years or more now. I'll try the tapping the top of the dash method first as my dash pad is already junk.

when my electrical system was acting up sometimes either the tach, the speedo or oil pressure would peg itself for seemingly no reason and sometimes get stuck. never had the luck with hitting the console as it just put bigger cracks in the crash pad. happened on both my formulas and once on my supra. 2 of the times i had to remove the cover of the cluster and manually move the stuck gauge around.

Yeah I just poked it back in that general direction and it finished going back where it belongs on its own. I did restart the car a few times while coasting to keep going a bit farther, so probably happened then. That eventually got old and I called up a tow.
Turned out to not be the waterpump itself either, the linkage was all chewed up?! On the driveshaft piece, motor side. Anyone else ever destroy one of those?
Luckily I've had a few motors come and go over the years around here. Happened to have one in good shape so I wasn't running around like a lunatic today trying to find one.
