but there is still a cost involved in doing the build if you aren't lucky to have a parts car to sell off and recoup your costs. I think merv to keep it fair, you should also mention what your net cost of the s10 conversion was too. granted you did some upgrades, but there is still cost.

$7500 total investment from start to finish.
That is having completely nothing to a running and driving vehicle..so it's not really a fair comparison IMO..
These guys here have their cars and can sell stuff, I bought a roller S10 for $500, traded a fresh 4L80E for the LS1 Longblock and a core 4L80E.

Even so you can pick up complete LS1/T56 drop outs for ~3k with harness and acc. K-Member and cross member don't cost more than a hundred or 2, and your still selling off your LT1 stuff.
