LT1 4L60e and LS1 4L60e Transmission
What is the differences with LT1 4L60e and LS1 4L60e Transmissions.
I am doing an LT1 to LQ4 swap.
I was told that i need to get a LS1 4L60e transmission for it to mount with the LQ4 and the Torque Converter.
Is there any work around for the LQ4 Engine to fit my 95 camaro 4L60e?
Is the bell housing different or what?

You'll need the 12563532 spacer. Some aftermarket flexplates use a dual pattern that will fit either the old or new style converter holes (such as the PRW 1834610). You'll also need 6 longer flexplate bolts (19257940).

What kind of wiring would have to be done in order for the 95 trans to work with the LS1 pcm?

Yep need a 96 -97 for no wiring changes, and the flexplate needs a spacer. I actually did the oposite once, I put a 99 4L60E behind an LT1 in a 93 S-10.

I have read so many threads today that I am just getting more and more confused. We are swapping an LS2 into the wife's '62 Impala. Originally the plan was to use a 700r4, but after doing some digging found that I could purchase a 4L60e from the local junkyard at a very reasonable price.
Question Is there a difference between the 4L60e transmissions on the V6 and the 4L60e transmissions on the V8? If so, how can we tell which transmission will bolt up to our LS2? We already own the spacer, flex plate and bolts. Thanks in advance.
edit: I also found this link at some point today.

If I read this link correctly, it states that the GM 4.3 and the LS are both 90* V motors and that the bellhousings do not change and are therefor compatible. Please tell me if I am right or wrong. This info will help broaden or narrow our search quite a bit.

From that link, it looks like the 2.8 v6 is the only one that has a different bolt pattern. The 4.3 looks like it shares the same bolt pattern. What do you mean by a 2-piece case?
