Default Moroso Pan w 3/4 Pickup Tube

Has anyone found a 3/4" pickup tube that will work with the Moroso pan for the LT1? I have the melling HV pump that came with it and want to replace it with the Melling 10554 pump but it has a 3/4 hole for the pickup.

It's the 20185, 7.5 deep. Moroso doesn't make a 3/4" pickup for this pan. I've seen many people with this issue but no one seems to have found something that works. I'm scared to run the HV pump that came with it after reading some many negative comments on it.

I have that pan. I never found a pump that uses a 3/4 pickup since I bought the moroso pickup for the pan and it's 5/8. I can look through the records and see what pump i went with but I know it's not a 3/4 pickup and it's also not a high pressure pump. I did read about one guy that found a pump but I know it cost him 135 bucks and it did use a 3/4 pickup and it was also not a high pressure pump. But he had to slightly mod the pan and pump to make it fit in there. Wasn't anything other then light grinding but he did make it work. Write up was on another forum, can't remember which one but mines a street engine so I went with one of the pump moroso suggests on the web page for the pan. Standard pressure standard volume.

I used a melling M-55 pump with 24212 moroso pickup. Thats what moroso site calls for. It is only 5/8 but works fine for me.

I used Moroso everything. Although the pan is a pain in the *** cause I still have a small front oil leak that I can't get rid of. Plus I had to bust out the dremel cause I had a hard time getting the pan to go over the pickup.

Don't know what the pump part # difference is but it's a 3/4 pickup for a 7.5" deep pan.

I saw that one but was afraid to order blindly. Maybe I'll give it a shot thanks.

The Canton pickup wins, it was a perfect fit. Almost like Moroso called Canton and said make a pickup that fits our pan for a pump with a 3/4 tube. Thanks for help guys.

Make sure you check your clearance. I have the same set up as you and after i bolted everything down with felpro gasket, the playdough was showing one spot a little higher then .5 clearance. It seems 1/4 to 3/8 is a safe measure. I added a .1 shim to the bolt that goes on the oil pump bottom housing. Now the clearance is better but has a even more slant then before. So over all Im getting around .240-420. From what i see/read it looks like im fine. Im still going to call my builder and double check with him.

By the way NOBODY trust moroso cutomer service 100%. I learned the hard way with wrong information from them. I lost one week of time and around 50 bucks. They do not make a pickup for the 10552 and they would have to custom make it. price is 75-80 and 2-3 weeks time wait.

im using at the end melling pump 10552, moroso pan 20185, canton pickup 20-021.

Had one of these pickup's in a Canton pan with a windage tray. It was a disaster. Discovered the engine would loose oil pressure coming off the line. Added oil with no help. Dropped the pan, removed the Melling HV pump and the Moroso pickup, replace them with a regular Melling pump and a stock truck pickup. Problem gone. I don't know why it happened but it cost me a set of bearings and almost wrecked my $1,500 Callies crank. I see no advantage to running that style pickup over a stock one. And I seriously doubt there is any.
