To the OP: For best results get headers, exhaust, get your heads done (make sure you get larger valves and seats installed with a port job) or get AFR heads, then get a cam and injectors&tune to match. The LT1 intake is excellent, very little to be gained even by porting it. Make sure you pay attention to the rest of the driveline like rear gears and torque converter (if you have an auto).
Take a look at the setups some guys have here and their 1/4mile times. There are some fantastic builds producing incredible numbers.

For an LT1, you can use the LT1 intake, the Edelbrock LT1 Intake, or a sheetmetal intake...but the Edelbrock intake is not worth the money it costs so spend your money in other areas such as cam, headers, exhaust, intake, tune, etc.
If you have LT4 Heads and no LT4 Intake, try and find one cheap...you might get lucky...if you don't, sell the LT4's and get LT1 Heads that are ported, or get aftermarket heads.

NO, you can not. period. You need the expensive as hell stock LT4 manifold (good luck finding one cheap) OR you need the Edelbrock LT4 Intake, OR you need to get the sheetmetal intake which is another pretty penny. LT4's don't have it very easy.

This is true, but by the time that is all said and done, you might as well invest in an LT4 or Edelbrock intake because that is close to what you will be spending to do a hack job on the stock intake...If they heads aren't on the car, I would sell them off for good money, and use that to port the LT1 heads and the LT1 intake and make more power.

I did... I actually busted a razor blade trying to cut through it. Hope your not mad when I have to cut the bracing out of them, before I test fit and send them out for paint and polishing.....
