Default My EFI 24x Install Underway.

I finally got my car out of storage and purchased the last of the swap parts needed. I got a few hours in after work today to get as much torn down as possible. Got the old harness pulled and the front of the motor torn down and just have to lower the pan and remove my timing cover. Im waiting on my Cloyes 9-3157 single roller to come in before i can progress and install the cam/crank reluctors and finally the 96-97 timing cover. Going to test it before i install the rest of the front of the motor to insure everything runs perfect just incase something is off. Found out i need to machine off 2.55mm or .100" off my ATI hub since mine didnt come made to work on both year styles. Going to make some phone calls in the morning to see if i can get that done to or else im stuck buying a new hub. So much easier to work on a freshly built and installed motor done last year as i didnt have to battle much. Will post up more pics tomorrow as the rest of it goes together.

My Swap Details:

DYI Wiriing Harness
0411 PCM
EFI 24x Kit
96-97 Timing Cover
AC Delco 96-97 Knock Sensor
LS2/Truck Coils
Custom Coil Pack Brackets (Mounted to Valve Covers)
Cloyes 9-3157 Single Roller (Going from Dual to Single for 96-97 Cover)
MSD Custom Wires with Heat Sock Shields

Pics i took while taking it apart.

Looking good so far. Be careful with that oil pan seal.

You shouldn't have to lower the pan to get the cover off

I would rather drop the pan than risk ripping the seal.

where did you pick yours up? I'm looking at summit and I'm seeing the sensor but it says no module or harness is included. Is it included in the 24x conversion kit?

I searched and searched but couldnt find a used one anywhere, lethal beat me to the one he got lol. I bought a new one from Rockauto.com. Things are coming along im just waiting on my hub to come back from the machine shop they were busy so i hope to have it back tomorrow to get it fired up to make sure it runs and then i can proceed to putting the rest of the motor back together and fitting the harness so it looks clean.

Been done many times and never had a problem. Just use a thin flat blade screw driver to get the seal loose from the cover.

Can you run a dual roller timing chain with the 24x kit or will I have to switch back to a singlet roller chain?

Well got another couple hours in today to work on it. My hub was done and picked that up from the machine shop. Got the hub back on, plugged and routed last few connectors, filled it with oil, and cranked it for the first time Well it RUNS baby! Smooth as can be and no engine lights on the dash and gauges were all working! Few glad my harness was on the money and very relieved!

Here's my latest pics and video running without an opti-crap!

There are two different style coils for trucks. I have the square ones on my 01 LQ4.
