Default All LT1 wireing harness gurus come help!

I'm in the ending stages of 408 lsx conversion. Just wondering what part if any of the computer I need to retain. I'll put it this way. I don't care about ABS. All I want to work is the Speedometer, and maybe the air bags. I'm running the t56.

Basically if I just disconnect the ECU what important things will I lose?

All you should need is the plugs from the engine harness to the inside of the car at the passenger side kick panel

Steve,

you need to be a little more specific about what you are doing. Did you use a ls1 fbody harness for the 408? What harness did you use for the engine?

As long as you feed the pcm the coolant temp it should control the fans. Pretty sure the resistance specs on the LT1 and LS1 temp sensors are the same.

ok nevermind. I found the green and blue wires for the high and low speeds I'm just going to ground them together on the same toggle and have one high speed on switch. I went out there and cut them and grounded them and they work great.

best part is that its still going through the relays and most of all... even though it's on a toggle switch the power to the fans is still cut off when the ignition is cut off. So no worries about leaving the fans on!

I could see this being a very easy cheap mod for anyone wanting to run a toggle to their fans for manual activation and retain the computers ability to activate them as well and not worry about leaving them on when you get out of the car.

Any ways back to the rest of the computer. What else being carbed do I need the stock computer for?
