Thanks for the kind words!
I have the Extreme springs with titanium or steel retainers. My steel retainers with stock locks are as light as the old Patriot titanium retainers with their super 7 locks! And the complete kit is only $209 shipped!

This year after my build i was having float issues with PAC 1518s with cam in sig. I called everywhere to try and find a set of Patriot Extreme Golds but they were on mass backorder. Went back to Lloyd Elliott for his advice on what he runs currently since Extremes are not avail. He made me a put together kit using Crane SBC Dual Springs and LT1 hardware. I think it was $300 shipped to my door and cleared up my float issues.

BTW if I remember I need to hit you up on some lifters tomorrow
For everyone else Check his lifter prices! The Street Morrels will work for 95% of you out there! Those are what I was using in my 9 second combo

How much better are they than the ls7 stock replacement lifters?

The only problem that I see with the LS7 lifters is the inconsistency in bleed down rate which can translate into one or two making noise. You might get a set that none of them make noise.
I have a new alternative that is better than the LS7 lifters, but not as pricey as the Morel lifters. I'll be offering new Slow Leakdown Rate lifters which are machined with tighter tolerances between the lifter bore and plunger. A lifter that has loose clearances can bleed down fast at low engine speeds and can cause the dreaded tick. These new lifters will be priced at $199 retail which will be about halfway between the price of the LS7 lifters and the Morel 5290's that I sell for $299. I'm pretty excited to be able to offer a better lifter than the LS7 at a better price point than the Morel.

I work in parts at a dealership and I can confirm that we see some bad "ls7" lifters too. It's not often, but it's not really uncommon either. I reused my 95k mile 1997 lifters when I went h/c because of it. LOL It's been about 2000 hard miles since with no problems or noise so far.
Pulling heads to change lifters AND having to buy new head bolts sux...but such is the life with the LS engines. I also see alot of cam/lifter failures and other oiling issues with those motors.....mostly the GENIV versions.
I'm not trying to bash them.....I'll still be building some in the future.

In regards to the springs....I am running the Crane 10308 kit that was on my heads when I got them. They all checked out within spec and have given me no problem. We'll see how they like the 1.7 rockers and extra lift soon.
That Brian Tooley kit looks like a great deal and I'd get those if buying new. Always good to help the sponsors that genuinely help us little guys.
