FWIW the truefiber hood is only 10lbs lighter than the factory hood.

If you really wanted to go with a bolt on, we can remove a bit more of the underside framing at the assembly phase for you, just request that when ordering

Yeah you should be fine then. It really was a minimal amount I removed on the hood. Lots on the lid base though. The glasstek hood is pretty light but definitely requires body work to get it near straight. I can only imagine a pin on will be much worse.

I recently ordered up a Glasstek pin-on SS hood for my car and will be installing my lid setup once I get a chance to set up my dzus rails and get the hood on.

I have a Z28 base and an unknown lid, hopefully this weekend I will get a chance to do some test fitting. I'll be sure to take some pics if I get that far.

Hey speed demon, what coupler did you use from MAF to TB?

Yeah, I have that. I've done the lid swap a few years ago, I was actually one ox the 1st to use the LS1 support and keep it all under hood.
I was actually asking because I kinda like the way Speed Demon kept his MAF in the end of the lid and the Fernco isn't long enough to catch the MAF. I'd like to use whatever SD used to make the connection.

And FWIW I am using a VFN 2" cowl with some trimming under the hood. It actually turned out nice and tucks right in

I have an LT1 SS hood and LS1 lid swap, was not the most fun thing to make work, but very doable. I'm going to a VFN sunocco hood or w/e it is, they will make the trim cuts to have it fit the ls1 lid, just have to ask them.

Anybody have the wide sunoco and lid setup? Is the fit on that any different than the standard sunoco?

I had a SS hood on my 95 swap car, worked fine.
