Removing Old Exhaust Manifold 1993 Formula

I'm going to help my son install some Pacesetter headers on his car. I work on my cars but not an experienced mechanic but I need help on how to remove the rearmost bolt on the passenger side stock manifold. I read somewhere to do it from the bottom but I see exhaust pipes in the way. I don't know if it will help but his air conditioning in not working so maybe remove parts of that system at the firewall? Also, if it looks so difficult to remove the bolt how do we apply the new one on the headers?
Thanks,
Mike
Thanks,
Mike

When i removed mine, i unbolted the engine mounts and raised the engine slightly it gave me enough room to pull both manifolds off. Some people had luck from bottom and some from top.
I had to remove the oil dipstick, starter, and alternator.
After i got my Pacesetter on, i got most of the bolts from top and the rear passenger side from the bottom.
My Pacesetter has no EGR ports, so it gave me more room to work with.

I had to unbolt my steering shaft for my LT's. I'm sure it depends on the brand. Plus on a '93, the oil pressure sensor is on the side of the block and gets in the way also when doing headers. I broke mine off lol.

Thanks for the help - especially jacking the rear up too. In about 3 hours we removed the alternator, A.I.R, and all but one bolt. Actually the right rear bolt was missing but heard this isn't used for headers. But, the second from the back on the passenger side is not very accessible from the top we will try from the bottom once we remove the old "Y" pipe.

I just swapped Y-pipes today, and with the starter out of the way, I was able to get everything on the passenger side from the bottom. I had to take out a broken O2 sensor, so the starter had to come out, anyways.

How did it go? Sorry for the hi-jack, but anyone have a 96-97 (pre-cats) and do headers? did the studs snap in the head? How bad was it to take off? I need LTs so bad
