We few who have experienced changing spark plug wires on our LT1's need to band together to stay strong through though this traumatizing ordeal that is changing the spark plug wires on LT1's.
Though most of the world will never understand, there are some who do.
On a side note who is up for hunting down the guy who designed the spark plug wire routing and re-routing his face into his ***? LOL

Yup, worst experience ever, had to do it TWICE. Put ac delco conventional plugs in with some delco wires. Started to misfire after a month (maybe sooner but it gradually got worse) under load if you were in a high gear. LT1s called for delco platinums, and thats what we pulled out of the car origionally so platinums went in. None of the new wires were melted or not fully on the plug and when we pulled the plugs they looked fine and were gapped correctly. Put the platinums in without having to change the wires again and ive been good since. About the install it could have been worse, i used a lift and all of them came out from the bottom, only 1 or 2 gave me alot of aggrivation, this is with cast iron manifolds.

You keep the stock routing, stick with nothing larger than an 8mm wire, don't buy some bullshit monster 8.5mm wires that won't fit in the stock clips and slots and it's not all that bad.

After headers, air pump removal ac removal it really isnt that bad haha, Take off my belt tensioner power steering pump and ac delete pully and its rather easy haha. althought my wires are routed all kind of stupid to prevent them from touching the longtubes

I've found, that if you're running stock manifolds, and the nuts that hold the "Y-pipe" on aren't too rusty, drop the pipe. You'll have a LOT more room. I also pulled out the bolts that hold the p/s pump to its mounting bracket, allowing it to droop forward, and you can then get at the wire loom that's behind there.
FWIW, I used the Moroso Blue Max wires. Pre-cut to length, terminals installed, and wires are numbered by cylinder.

It doesnt really seem too bad to me. Dropped the Y-pipe and good to go. Even with the stock manifolds. Only thing that really sucked was getting the pass. side wires back down to the opti.
