Owner before me had bottom half of sides repainted due to being keyed, and the shop decided to use the pin stripe as a paint line. Not worth spending $1000 to get rid of them.

Got it back Tuesday. Total for the repairs was $5300 and change plus 380 to have them paint the spoiler and passenger 1/4 panel.

Not how it worked with me. I got fair value for all my mods and I didn't even provide receipts..

If you are not at fault, get a price on EVERY modification on that car and submit it, make two copies on what it would take to replace each. Make two copies, submit one and keep one. Have the car appraised if need be.

When they give you **** start complaining about your neck and back being stiff.....this is a motivator for the adjuster. That is YOUR car, their insured hit YOU.

If you fight it they WILL pay for whats on that car.

EDIT congrats on getting it fixed.

Everyone read this post and adhere to it when not at fault. Even if you are claiming it on your insurance, if you fight hard enough you can get at minimum some value back from your mods.

How did he "get lucky"?

If his mods were considered it would have driven up the value making it even harder to make it a total loss. Making his salvage value higher, making the percentage of ACV vs salvage value smaller.

They don't care about aftermarket... They just look at bluebook. They almost totaled my car when the airbags deployed due to my rear U joint asploading. The guy came out and said the car was in great shape so he covered it. He said aftermarket generally doesn't count towards the value, unless you document everything... which I probably should do

I really have to or are you trying to save face? It's all right there. He was lucky his car was not totaled out because his mods were not considered with the value of the car. Is more necessary or do I have to break out the Crayolas?
