Default Stainless longtube headers.

Anyone know where I can get a set of nice, stainless steel longtube headers to replace my rusted out Hookers? I've been checking around, and no one seems to have them. Is there anyone that offers these in 1 3/4" or 1 7/8" primary tube diameter? O2 bungs? Etc. If no one offers them straight up, does anyone custom make them for a reasonable price?

I think SLP makes stainless steel headers also, but I think they only make longtubes for the LS1... and I haven't heard many good things about them. But yeah, Kooks is definitely the way to go for stainless steel headers.

I e-mailed Kooks, and they said the LT1 headers would be "prototyped" this coming June. That probably means next year at this time they could have some to sell me.

If ya don't mind the cost, FLP makes a good set of LTs for both LT1s and LS1s too. I've got a set on my 96 ss and I love 'em.

If it were me, I'd just put about 10 coats of Duplicolor engine enamel on the old Hookers.

Are FLP's stainless? I don't really care about sway in cats - I live in Michigan and no one even bothers with a visual emissions inspection. I've been running no cats on the street for over a year.

flp's aren't stainless, plus they are prone to rust really quick. i've looked for stainless longtubes and i could'nt find em, so i went with jethot LT's. they have a lifetime gurantee on rust and 2 or 3 yr on coating.

I had my hooker's Jet Hot coated and they came with the lifetime warranty, too. Problem is, their warranty is about useless. You have to take the headers off to send them back in for re-coating, which is, naturally, really easy and quick to do. Then you probably get to sit around for a good couple of weeks without a car while they take their sweet time getting them back to you.
