Define overheating and how long does it take and under what conditions.

As in can hear coolant bubbling cause it's hot? How else does it over heat? And it's right around ten minutes. Also no coolant in oil and no oil in coolant and at idle heats up fast when in gear

I saw something on horsepower tv this weekend (which yes is a horrible place to get info) but he drilled a small hole in the body of the t stat, just enough to help air bleed through, never heard of it before but maybe someone can chime in if they've tried it, supposedly helps bleed air pockets. With so many people always having issues getting the air out these cars it could be worth a shot.

Let the car get to operating temp and shut it off, then crack the bleeders on t-stat housing and in heater core line. Repeat a few times or until no more air is coming out. Coolant boiling means air pockets.

I've already bled the lines till collant came out. Could it just be a slight clog in the radiator or water jackets

Some stats come with a bleed hole.

Is the cap holding pressure? The fan temps are hot enough that without pressure the coolant would boil before the fans come on.
Are the fans coming on?
Is the radiator getting hot? Was the waterpump driveshaft stripped? It has happened, guys have left it off a few times too.

Are the heater lines getting hot?

I had erratic heating issues at one time that drove me crazy. Turned out that I had sludge in my radiator. It was about the same price to clean out the old radiator that it was to buy a new radiator, so I bought a new one.

Sludge, in my case, was caused by me mixing regular coolant in with Dex-Cool. The new radiator, a new heater core (you might can flush your's out), and flushing out my engine block cured my problem. I also stayed away from Dex-Cool and just used regular coolant with a 15%/85% mix with Purple Ice additive. I used 15% coolant and 85% distilled water. That mixture works well here in North Alabama, you will have to figure out what mixture you need with how harsh of a winter your car is subjected to.

Hope this helps.

Just to elaborate the dash gauge is controlled by the sender in the cylinder head, the pcm gets it's info from the one in the waterpump.

You need to unhook the hoses, and flush them out for a good long time with a water hose, all of them. Every hole including going in the engine. And flush the radiator. Install a new thermostat (if you haven't already), put the right mixture of coolant in, run the car and bleed the air out atleast 3 different times. I had no heat problem before. I flushed the heater hoses back and forth for like 20 minutes or more and then the heater worked fine.
