Default Air pump problem

I was getting a check engine light for code P0410 (secondary air injection system). So I replaced the air pump, bleed valve and both check valves with brand new GM parts, but I'm still getting the code. I checked all the relays and fuses and they are all good. Any ideas?

I'm pretty sure I hear it kicking on. From the research I have done that code means the pump is being cycled on but the O2's do not read lean like they should.

Make sure your check valves are good.

Take the hose off from the pump that is injecting air into the exhaust and see if you feel any sort of flow. Naturally, the only time to do this is when the engine is cold and in the operating window of the AIR pump.

I pulled the hose off the check valves and there is barely any air coming out. I pulled the suction hose off the intake and it had decent suction. So it seems like the pump is sucking air, just not pushing it out for some reason.

I guess it could be. I got it with the car but it was new in the box.

Did you check the voltage at the connection to the pump? Again, unless you can jump it, it'd have to be done in the pump's operating temp window.

No I haven't checked that. Would I check it from the wires between the plug and the pump?

You should be able to check it at the connector. Shoebox may have the schematics needed to see where the +12 is.

If not, a Haynes manual should have it.

just had that code, it was a fuse thankfully. Obviously if the pump is on then its not a fuse, but they do make a distinct sound almost like a turbo whistle or a kazoo lol.
