13.892....stock
Car may be a freak of nature but I think it's the fact our track is near sea-level with cool Eastern Canada air in October.
13.892 @ 97mph 1.98 60' with 2.73's,
Car has full interior, I'm 360lbs and this was on 10 year old Nittos. 2500 converter and K&N cold air kit. Still has all emissions and cat on it. Magnaflow exhaust.
I was happy to say the least, first time at my track and it ran low 14.01, 14.02.. etc then the 13.892. With my explorer 8.8 with 3.73's it should do better than that. Perhaps a tune too.
This is real, have the slip and a video..

I didn't realize a 2500 stall converter, K&N cold air intake, Magnaflow exhaust, Nitto drag radials came stock on a 96 Z28 A bolt on car would be a more accurate description unless you mean a completely bone stock unmolested car FWIW. I wouldn't call it a freak just yet unless it can take out an equivalent LS1 car....also considering a REAL bone stock LT1 with 6spd would trap 101 MPH. Yeah...those 2.73 highway gears are killing it, you might run high 12's once you get a decent gear in it and a tune, throw on some 1.6 roller rockers, and headers.

I'm new to racing and to me it's stock as to motor I guess... there is "supposedly" $2000 in the 4l60E. I have all the receipts for it. I have a plan to drop in my 383 bottom end gen 1 block with either vortecs with screw in studs or a set of profilers. I have also a th350 here with a 3600-3800 stall converter. I don't want to spend anything on the Lt1 since i have no desire in using the block, hard to find on this island in the atlantic.
There's Edelbrock TES headers on it too.. o.k. not stock at all lol.

There is a track in Maryland called Cecil County Dragway which is a few hundred feet above sea level, but is notorious for good ET's because they are open up until December. It has been dubbed "The Cecil mod" by the locals because of the outstanding ET's. Back in the late 90's there were a few members from CZ28.com who ran bone stock LT1's there claiming very low 13's.
Yeah as far as your sig is concerned, I completely overlooked it. The dual stock cat y-pipe helps out a bit. As said, if you do gears and rockers you could most likely see mid 12's w/out a problem.

That is pretty average for a mild bolt on car. Back in 2001 my 94 B4C ran 13.71@100mph with a 2.01 60ft absolutely bone stock. Another friends 94 B4C ran 13.61@103 absolutely bone stock but his was a 1SA stripper car and only weighed 3140lbs without driver. We also had a local guy with a 97 Z28 that ran 13.77@101 bone stock. The owner of Speartech's daughter had a 1996 SS auto car that went 13.50s at round 100-103mph but I think they may have has some tuning done to it. Everything else was stock tho.

I'm not into fuel injection, I ran a carb with my 383 last year, sadly no track or hp numbers. Mid 12's would be amazing if i don't have to open the motor but I think i'll be aiming to do my 383 swap in the future, all forged bottom end.
Would be it worth my time to keep the lt1 heads for a 383 or just get something better. I can't send it off to loyd elliot or anyone else because of the horrible shipping cost for us. My buddys vortec 355 is doing 12.99 now with more in it. I was looking at "The Twister" on Chevy High Performance. I'd be in the 425fwhp range.

goal is to run a 383 stroker, th350 3800 stall, exploder 8.8 rear with 3.73's. I'd love a high 11 car, no cage is going in this one so 11.5 is the fastest it'll go... then i gotta make a race car lol. My real question is about the LT1 heads, it's cheaper for me to plug the coolant holes needed to put on a sbc.... but I don't know if these heads can get me to 11's with a home port/polish and 1.6 roller rockers.
I have a 274hr in my 383 block now so i'll be keeping that... with 1.6rr it should be around .540 lift

And leave the 4L60 in there until it breaks, if it does. The low first gear of that tranny makes for good short times.

12.99@103 for me. FLT Lvl 4 trans, 3600 stall, full suspension minus a k-member, QA1's w/275 lb front springs and BMR lowering rears. Pacesetter Long tubes and a flow master single out exhaust. On drag radials. I haven't touched the engine. That was with the stock 3.23 gear. Now that the 3.73 is in for now, I'm going to put a small 125-150 shot and try my hand at the local 11.50 index class.
Cam and associated valvetrain/ tune upgrades should net you a whole lot better.

Well i guess this is good news then, if the car is on par for average then I should gain from the mods you guys suggested. If I keep the lt1 heads they'll be welded and going on the 383 sbc because it'll be impossible to find another lt1 block here. Disadvantages of living on a island in the atlantic.
Ideally i want the profilers but my budget will be tight for a year or so.
