Default Trouble with rocker/stud

My car 1995 Pontiac firebird trans am lt1 t56 manual.

Trying to install roller rockers
Non self aligning
I have pro comp electronic 2.00 inch over nut 7/16 studs top and bottom.

comp cams high energy 1.6 ratio rockers 7/16
Comp cams lash caps

with the old rocker Clarence by Dremel tool lash caps and guide plates in place I bottom out on the stud before getting enough preload on the lifter 1/2 turn part zero. 1.5 ratio.

Ordered the comp cams rockers in 1.6 hoping that would fix things still bottoming out on the stud before adjustment.

The rocker is hitting on the rocker arm stud shank almost like it is too wide. Anyone have any ideas or a line on studs that will work?

Everyone says measure push rod length I have no clearance to check it and with cleranced rockers it cleans a line right down the center of the stem or lash cap where it is supposed to be.

Thanks for any advice in advance.

We have been using studs and guide plates from alex's parts.com without issue on 2 engines now. What lifters are you using we did have to change push rod length with the lunatic cam and lifter kit my son used on his last engine. But every other 1 we used stock or stock replacements with the poem length pushrods

Fairly new cleaned and inspected Oem lifters, and of course new hardened push rods the old push rods were like crinkle cut French fries I didn't trust them that came out of the old engine, 7.200 oal length. If that helps the cam is the comp cams extreme fuel injection cam 292xfi h13 part number 07-468-8

Haven't had any issues with comp cams yet. Were the studs and guide plates you used made for lt1 heads? There might be a difference in not sure.

They were made for regular small block 350 some people didn't like the idea of the sbc guide plates being on an lt1 because it was chewing into they're guide plates but I have hardened guide plates that are adjustable.

Never used "pro comp" studs. ARP makes 3/8 or 7/16 SBC RR studs for use with or without guide plates (different part #'s. I have ARP RR studs with Comp Pro Mag RR.

The ISKY adjustable guide plates are good for the LT1 heads. Fixed guide plates don't allow each RR to be lined up L-R center on valve tip

Non self aligning roller rockers require hardened push rods and guide plate. The center bolt heads can require narrow rockers. I would verify push rod length.

Crane Gold "narrow body (3/8"), same as GMPP, are plug & play for center bold VC. Comp Pro Mags and others require minimal cutting of the drip baffles (pic) or "bend" them out of the way. Very simple mod. Cut on intake side

update i removed the cheap ebay rockers which were the procomp 1.5 roller rockers and replaced them with a set of Comp Cams Roller Rockers Extreme Energy in 1.6 ratio and i used comp cams lash caps on top of the stems, i replaced the cheap 7.200 hardened procomp push rods with trickflow hardened 7.300 push rods, with everything in place my lifter is rolling on the exhaust valve just across the centerline of the stem, the intake side is rolling just off the centerline of the stem towards the exhaust side, the rockers are finally setting high enough they are not contacting the rocker stud to which they are sitting on, new problem, the billet specialties ball milled valve covers i had were too short, ordered a set of billet specialties TALL ball milled valve covers and everthing looks great now.
