I dont see that happening but Im dont know a lot about LT1s.
For 5k total, your only options are staying n/a without spraying.
I would think that it would be work getting a pretty radical h/c LT1
in the 10s with stock weight. Add the price of rearend and stickies
and your 5k is gone pretty quick. I dont see too many full weight
LS1 going 10s on just the motor, much less a M6.
Just my opinion though.
So how come you want 10's and no spray?

You'll need the spray to get close to those numbers with that budget. My friend on his mostly stock LT1 in his Caprice was running 12.7s with a budget of $3k. (Nitrous, Headers, Gears+Posi, and a high stall TC)

Why does it say 93 LT1 SS in your signature? I thought they didn't even have the SS back until 96 :?

I think you might Mod the Engine into the power it takes to get there but all the other stuff is going to push you to around ten I am guessing

an all motor lt1 to go 10's will be at least 6 jus in the motor combo alone with all the fuel system and parts,then add 12 bolt slicks n skinnies some suspension...

build a h/c car and some genlte spray and u can go at least low 11's.

I don't think you'd need 6k in just the motor to hit a 10. IMO, it can be done cheap with(although I wouldn't consider this a daily driver)...

stock bottem end
le3 package
1.6rr's
long tubes w/ open headers or just bullets/turndowns
No belt
gutted car!!!
4000ish stall
tranny cooler
10 bolt with 3.73's(yes it will hold if set up correctly)
pull motor to 6600+rpms
lca's
hal shocks
torque arm
26" et drags
lightweight wheels/skinnies
cai
injectors
great tune

You'd need the car to weigh ~3000lbs without driver, and a have a <160lb driver. I probably forgot a few little mods, but really this is all you should need. Get the car to pull some high 1.4x 60fts, lock the converter on the top end, and it should run a 10.xx at 120+mph, while crossing traps at ~6600rpms in 3rd gear(which is perfect) all while running in ~1000-1500DA.

Although, IMO, just spray it. I was going to try to get my combo in my sig down to 11.2x's with the baby cam, which I didn't see as a problem, but I ended up getting a 383 with the LE2 package for dirt cheap so it'll be in the car this weekend. Although, the old motor went in a 6 speed car, and he'll be looking for 120mph come spring, on motor from the baby cam.

What size cam are you going to use and how much headwork are you gunna do to make those heads flow to 6600 and still make power?with the right cam and head combo you can prolly go to 6600 no problem but it takes work..

For $5000, you could do:
NX 250 wet shot = $600
fuel pump = $150
injectors = $500
clutch = $500
headers = $500
Moser 4.11 = $2000
SFC = $300
ET Streets = $400
tuning/dyno = $500

really i would think the best wayto accomplish this is to make the car weigh under 3000 pounds
