Default Tsp Ms3 Vs. Gm 847

I just heard a TSP MS3 cam in a LS1 and that shaft sounds F*c*in NASTY. I think the specs on the TSP MS3 are 237/242 & .603"/.609" LSA 113 VS. 234/242 & .575"/.595" LSA 112 My question is not to really compare a LS1 cam to a LT1 cam, but would the GM847 sound remotely as good as the MS3 cam. I really want the GM 847 to sound like a NASTY stick on a LT1... Also the GM847 cam would be in a stock short block LT1 with 10.4 CR with all the bolt-ons, long tubes, etc. I will probably be changing out my B&B Tri-Flo for the TSP true duals. Anyone care to elaborate on RWHP with this setup and lots of tuning...

With that tight 112 LSA, long duration and high lift, it should sound absolutely EVIL

Brettinator had that cam before, I uncapped his exhaust once just to hear it, he had it with jet Hot LTs, sounded sick. Same with a CC306, LT1s generaly sound better than LS1s. A good cammed LT1 will sound mean as hell.

I have the GTP-6 ground on a 114 and it sounds absolutely nasty.....a 112 would have even more "chunk" to it.

I hope your heads are worked though....some folks with the GM847 / GTP-6 have been seeing 390-415 (I think is the highest I've seen). All depends on the heads and the tune.

Hey Jeff, do you think ed wright can handle tuning the GM847 cam or should I look for someone else to tune the bird ?? Ed can be a little funny about tuning if you don't let him have his way .... If I take the car to him again I want to make sure he can tune this cam correctly and give this cam some decent street manners.

street manners IE: rough idle, nasty rpm range......that's what I meant by street manners....

I hope the 75mm GMS will work fine with that cam ?? What is Ed running in his current setup ??
