Hey Glove,
Did you bother to even click on his link to look at his Dyno #'s?
The Increased Hp's are on a graph just over 6hp. So who are you arguing with?
Now on the other hand, I wouldnt have thought that you would have that much gain w/ just the bypass and may not on every car, but he did!
I can believe it especially when the throttlebody temp cooled down as much as 20 degrees!
Dont know when this was dyno'd but Im sure it helps the most in the summer, and you may not see this gain in the winter on a cold day!

You guys believe in icing the intake right, it is a proven way to go faster at the strip? Well if that can make a car faster why is it not possible for heat added to the intake to hurt power? Or is it that you believe 200degree(maybe more, remeber this is right from the heads) coolant routed through the TB will not affect intake temps. Metal is a good heat conductor and while the TB may not be a particularly efficient heat exchanger it certainly will exchange some heat into the intake charge.

if your a 96-97 just take the hose off the tb thats coming from the steam line on the passenger side of the intake. get a longer hose and go from the radiator over to that steam line. your done. you may actually just be able to pull the line off the tb and shove it onto the steam line with out changing it.

There is no downside to this mod either, did it years ago on my Caprice it has seen many miles in all conditions form teens below zero up to right at freezing with rain which is actually the time a TB would be most likely to freeze. Reason 33degrees is worse is because say it is 33degrees and raining there is 100% humidity, the velocity cahnge and pressure drop as the air enters the TB can cause a slight temp drop which in theory could cause condensation and freezing. Realworld experiance has shown me that this is not an actual concern though.

I don't know about 6RWHP... The dyno sure does show an increase of that, but there are too many variables. When I dynoed my car, first it went 285.8RWHP just after being warmed up, then we let it cool down for about 20 minutes, then it did 292.0RWHP. Then we did another run right after that, 294.2RWHP.. That doesn't mean there is something I did to gain almost 10RWHP though.. http://home1.gte.net/res04pk1/camaro/dyno.jpg

It just bewilders me that people would argue against this, when I thought this was proven mod. It gave my 94 TA ~5hp and 5hp for under $20 and 10minutes can't be beat, huh?

Check out WS6.com to see more dyno results and analysis.

I did something along those lines on my LT1. I sincerely doubt it gained six RWHP. Good Free mod though, I would recommend everyone do it unless they are from Alaska or something.
