I have the Hotcam now, I'm just wondering if I will see some if any gain by going with a custom grind or something like the CC306 or GM847? it will be tuned for it of course after it's in. Just wondering if there is any benefit to go with the bigger cam on stock heads?

You can go bigger, i think some guys with the GM 847 made over 350RWHP on stock heads.
But realize by going bigger you are going to have to spin the car to 6500+ RPMs and are going to loose alot of low-end and hence drivability.

What type of transmission do you have? If you have an A4, your gonna need to get a decent stall with a bigger cam like the CC306 or GM847. Thru an M6, people have gotten 380 RWHP with just the GM847 and boltons

all the valvetrain is upgraded right now to the hotcam kit 1.6 rockers springs retainers etc new pushrods lifters etc.
I have a M6
so the cc306 would probably be my best bet for HP and retaining some streetablility?

Go bigger than what you have, the GM cam will have a pretty good lope to it, just as long as you get a damn good tune, you'll be fine..Might have to upgrade injectors with a cam that size..30#'s would be fine.

www.samtaylor.com.....ask for Jason Cromer...$209. I don't have specs off hand. CC306'ish but bigger by a tad and better ramp rates.

I have heard though since I have the "Hotcam kit GM" rockers 1.6 I can't run them past like .575 lift?
is this true?
and the lift on the GM847 cam will be close to 600 with 1.6's

i've never heard of rockers having limits of lift amounts.. maybe with the springs you cant go past .575 but if you switched cams you probably would want to switch springs to be on the safe side.

"These small-block 1.6:1 ratio aluminum rockers are similar to the rockers used in the 1996 Corvette LT4 engine, except the trunnions have been machined for early model 3/8" rocker studs. These kits of 16 rockers includes nuts and instruction sheets. They are self aligning-style rockers with washers between the rollers and the rocker body for improved wear characteristics. Reducing the length of the rocker stud slots improves the stiffness by 30% over comparable aftermarket designs. These rockers will accommodate up to .575" valve lift. One of the main advantages of these rockers is about 2 ft/lb in rotation torque which provides a quieter idle."
just what I found so I guess I would be selling my entire hotcam kit for new either 1.5 or 1.6 rockers springs retainers and GM847 probably
