Default Can I use 5.7" Connecting Rods on a 383?

Can I use 5.7 Rods in a 383 stroker build? I have a set of Scat 4340 5.7 rods from my 350 LT1 that are only 6 months old... If not what do you guys suggest?
Thanks...

Sure can. A 6.0" rod will give you a slightly better rod/stroke ratio with less sideloading, but many that run large amounts of boost or nitrous use a 5.7" or 5.85" rod.

ditto....you can use them but the 6.0 will also give you a good bit less weight at the end of the rod to sling around , if you get my drift.

Just make sure when you order you pistons, you specify 3.75 stroke, 4.030 bore(if applicable) 5.7 rods.

Yeah, make sure the compression hight of the pistons is 1.45".

I do plan on running a twin sts style turbo system eventually, but I'll probably start out with a 100-150 shot of N2O... So the shorter rods would be good for this? Also what pistons would you guys recomend? I plan on getting a forged crank... Any other suggestions?
Thanks A lot...

i would shell out the cash and get the 6.0 rods, venoila , j e pistons , wiseco even makes a great forged piston . any good brand should do fine....just get forged not cast hyperuetectic pos's.

For the pistons... flat top or dished? What will yeild a lower compression ratio(for boost)? Sorry for asking so many questions but i wanna make an informed choice this time... Last summer I had a local shop rebuild the old motor(stock disp) and it ended up costing me $5500 so this time i just wanna do it right...
Thanks again...

well...this is where talking to joe overton or loyyd will help the most. really depends on boost level, the dish pistons seem to offer nice controlled combustion without detnation, but this is where contacting a "good shop" would help . maybe MORE PERFORMANCE in charlotte nc .
